I just love it when realtors come to me for their headshots! I think it's because I spent many happy years selling real estate before deciding to follow my passion for portrait photography. So when three East Tennessee real estate agents reached out needing fresh, new headshots for their websites and social media, I was all in. Each of them wanted updated images that felt polished, professional, and true to who they are and I was excited to help bring that vision to life.

We kicked things off in my studio, and while my gear decided to act up (cue internal panic), we got everything back on track quickly. Let’s just say this: realtors aren’t the only ones who need to be quick on their feet and ready to pivot. I may have been sweating a little, but I promise I remained the picture of composure, aside from the frantically whispered “oh no, not now” under my breath.

Despite the equipment hiccups (because technology loves to keep us humble), we moved through the studio headshots quickly, capturing clean, classic, and polished looks. From there, we headed to historic downtown Dandridge to mix in some environmental portraits with a bit more personality. Golden hour was still a ways off, but with a little creativity and some open shade, we found beautiful light and created some beautiful images for them to use on their website, social media or even a business card.

It’s always a little nerve-wracking being in front of the camera, even for professionals like realtors who are used to being “on.” That’s why I guide every client through the session from start to finish. I’ll coach you into natural, flattering poses and help you feel relaxed and confident throughout the process. I also fully retouch all final images to make sure you look your absolute best: polished, professional, and still you.

Speaking of you, let’s talk about that old headshot on your business card. I recently spoke with a realtor whose client didn’t even recognize him when he arrived at a showing. His photo was so outdated, it could have been from another era. In a trust-based business like real estate, that’s not the kind of first impression you want to make. And beyond professionalism, there’s a real safety factor to consider. In today’s world, clients want to feel confident and secure about who they’re meeting. Having an up-to-date headshot helps reassure them that you are who you say you are and that builds both trust and comfort from the very first interaction.

A professional headshot is your digital handshake. It’s often the very first impression someone has of you, and in industries as competitive as real estate, first impressions matter. But even more powerful than a standard headshot is a personal branding session. These sessions are a next-level way to connect with potential clients by showing off not just what you look like but who you are.
