A Senior Session Full of Personality and Playfulness
I recently had the pleasure of photographing a soon-to-be senior from Jefferson County High School in a studio session that showcased the things that make her unique—her love for volleyball, her style, and her fun, fashionable flair. I absolutely love photographing and celebrating seniors! It’s such a significant milestone in their lives and the perfect time to highlight their personality, interests, style, and teenage vibe.
Bringing Passion to the Portraits
As a volleyball player, she wanted to incorporate her sport into the session, so we captured some shots of her in a Florida Gators volleyball uniform, volleyball in hand. She mentioned that her Gators-fan father would love this! She posed with her volleyball like a champ and even balanced the ball on her head for a fun, creative shot.
One of my favorite things about senior sessions is incorporating each senior’s sports, hobbies, and personal interests. Not only is it a great way to document their passions during this important time, but using props also brings out their personality in a natural, engaging way. Whether it’s a volleyball, soccer ball, football, violin, books, art supplies, or even a camera, these meaningful details help tell their story and make their session uniquely theirs.
Fashion Forward: Showcasing Personal Style
Beyond sports, she also brought several stylish outfits that gave us plenty of variety in her portraits. A fun and flirty knee-length red dress made for some of my absolute favorite images from the shoot—especially when paired with a wide-brimmed fedora hat and a denim jacket. This combination was pure perfection!
For another look, she opted for black pants and a black-and-white cropped top, switching things up with yet another felt fedora. Accessories like hats not only add personality and flair but also enhance the overall feel of the portraits, making them more dynamic. She rocked every outfit with ease, making this session an absolute breeze!
Looking Toward the Future
Not only is she excelling in high school, but she already has big dreams for her future. After graduating, she plans to attend East Tennessee State University (ETSU) to study nursing, with the goal of becoming an ER nurse. I love learning about my senior clients, especially their ambitions and future plans. I admire her determination and have no doubt she will thrive in her chosen career path!
